Our Alaska cod fillet portions are flash-frozen and individually vacuum-sealed in 7 to 12 oz. packages. They are skinless & boneless.
Frozen Alaska cod fillet portions can be stored in your freezer for several months. Cod fillets can be thawed under refrigeration about 12 hours before preparation. The vacuum-sealed packages can also be ran under cold water to speed this up considerably.
About 1/3 to 1/2 pound per person is a good portion size for cod fillet. It’s healthy, low in fat, and absolutely delicious, so you can feel good about enjoying it.
Besides being an excellent lean, low-calorie source of protein, cod contains a variety of very important nutrients including B vitamins and several other nutrients that help keep your heart healthy. The amazing thing about Alaska cod is that a single serving only has 0.4 grams of total fat, which makes it virtually fat-free. Furthermore, a large percentage of the fat is in the form of healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
