Langostino Lobster

"Langostino", from Spanish loosely translates to mean "little lobster". Also known as "squat" lobsters, these tasty little crustaceans hail primarily from Chile, El Salvador, and New Zealand.

Langostino lobsters have a flavor reminiscent of cold-water lobster and a texture similar to shrimp. Extremely versatile, langostino meat has a sweet, delicate flavor, and can be used in any recipe calling for lobster meat or shrimp.

Langostinos have festive appearance, with purple-ribbed tails that are approximately 1" long. The shells of langostino tails crack-open easily, making "cocktail langostino" a fun & tasty appetizer, and an alternative to shrimp at parties or get-togethers with friends.
