Serving Sizes

When serving salmon fillets, about 1/3 to 1/2 pound per person is a good portion size if serving with additional entrees.

Storing and Thawing

To thaw flash-frozen salmon fillets, place them in refrigerator for a day. Because they are vacuum-sealed you can also run cold water over sealed fillets to speed up the thawing process. Quickly rinse salmon prior to preparing it.

Packaging and Portion Sizes

Our Yukon Coho salmon fillets are flash-frozen and individually vacuum-sealed for your convenience. They can be stored in your freezer for several months. Fillets are boneless and range from 1/3 to 1 lb. packages.

Boneless Fillets - Pin Bone Out

Fillets are deboned with our pinbone machine, then examined by trained inspectors.  We do our best to remove all bones, "so that you don't have to".  However, it is possible that we could miss a bone.

The prized Yukon River coho salmon spawn up the mighty Yukon River during late September all the way thru October.  Yukon River coho salmon can be found spawning as far up the Porcupine River- 2,200 miles from sea.  This unusually far spawning distance is quite typical for Yukon salmon.  Because salmon generally do not eat once they begin to spawn, they store fats and oils for their body's consumption. This is why Yukon River salmon have the greatest amount of healthy oils of all salmon.
