Shipping

Which days do you ship?
Monday through Thursday (for next-day delivery).

How much does shipping cost?
Overnight FLAT-RATE Shipping costs $29.00, and is available in most major US cities. Shipping includes insulated box, dry ice, insurance, and overnight delivery service via FedEx or UPS. Some (rural) areas require PRIORITY Flat-Rate shipping, which costs $54.00.
HAWAII Flat-Rate shipping costs $79.00.

How do you ship?
We ship our seafood in insulated boxes, packed with dry ice, using FedEx or UPS overnight service.

How do I track my package?
On the day of shipping, we will email you a tracking number.

Can I ship to multiple addresses?
Yes, you can place multiple orders for different locations. This requires placing an order for each destination. If you call us toll-free at 888-926-3474, a customer service professional will gladly assist you.

Do you ship to Canada?
No, not at this time.

Do you ship internationally?
No, we only ship within the Continental U.S.

Can I use my own FedEx or UPS account?
We're sorry; we cannot accept 3rd-party FedEx or UPS account numbers.

Orders & Ordering

Do I need an account to place an order?
Nope. However, checkout is a little faster and easier if you use your account.

What is my order status?
Feel free to call us toll-free at 888-926-3774 and we will gladly tell you what the status of your order is. You can also track your own order with the emailed tracking number we send at the time of shipment.

What should I do with any dry ice that is leftover in my shipping box?
The best thing to do is keep it wrapped, and place it in your garbage can. Keep any remaining dry ice out of reach of children and pets, and do not place in a sealed container.

How does my order arrive?
Your order will arrive in a shrink-wrapped, insulated shipping box, packed with either dry ice or gel packs.

Can I add a gift message to my order?
Absolutely! If you order online, you can enter a gift message at the time of checkout. If you call-in your order, let us know it's a gift, and we'll gladly include your gift message.

Can I place an order over the phone?
Yes, just call us toll-free at 888-926-3474.

Can I buy seafood at your facility?
We do not offer facility pick-up, but we do offer a wide range of shipping options. Within Anchorage and Southcentral Alaska, Home Delivery is available for only $15.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. (We also accept PayPal's Bill Me Later.)

Privacy & Security

Is your online store secure?
Yes. We use a GeoTrust Secure 128-bit eBusinessID Web Server Certificate (SSL) that ensures shopping at FishEx.com is safe and secure.

Do you share customer information with third-party companies?
No- we do not share, nor do we believe in sharing your private information with other parties. We appreciate your business and loyalty and would never put that trust in jeopardy.

Do you store credit card info?
No, we do not.

What are your hours of operation?
7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Alaska Standard Time. (Note that Alaska is 4 hours behind the East Coast, so our business hours equate to 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.)

My Online Account

How do I find my account password?
At the login page, you can type in your account login word, click the "email me my password" checkbox, and our system will email you your password. You can also call us toll-free at 888-926-3474, and we will be glad to assist.

I forgot my login name?
Please call us at 888-926-3474 and we will look it up for you.

Can I store multiple shipping addresses on FishEx?
Yes, if you create a FishEx account there is an area at the bottom of your account page where you can add additional shipping addresses to your account. Upon checkout, you will be presented with drop-down list boxes where you can quickly choose the destination of your order.

Coupons, Gift Certificates & Discounts

Do you offer any discounts or coupons?
Yes, we occasionally offer free product coupons, and online we offer a volume discount called the "Big Fish Discount". Orders over 25 lbs save 10% on product total. Orders over 50 lbs save 15%. Orders over 100 lbs save 20%. (Gift boxes, cases, and sale items excluded.)

How do I use my coupon?
During checkout, you will find a box to type your coupon number into.

How do I use my Gift Certificate?
During checkout
, you will find a box to type your gift certificate number into. Your certificate balance will be applied toward your order. If there is a balance remaining on your certificate, you will be able to use it the next time you order.

How do I use my Free Bisque code?
On the basket page, there is a box to type your free bisque code into that will add your free bisque to the shopping cart.

No, we do not offer fishing jobs. We are a seafood purveyor, and we do not own fishing boats.

Were do I find cooking instructions or recipes?
We have many recipes online along with several pages on seafood cooking instructions. Start with our main Seafood Recipes web page. From there you will find several categories to choose from, and within many you will find links to cooking tips located just below the recipes.

Thawing & Storing Seafood

What is the best way to thaw frozen seafood?
We recommend thawing seafood overnight, in a refrigerator, at 38 F or below. Vacuum-packed fish can also be quick-thawed by placing it in a bowl, under cold running water, for a half-hour or so.

Can I freeze my fish after it has thawed?
This is not recommended, as home-appliance freezers do not have the freezing power to freeze fish ultra-fast. Freezing seafood at home will often result in ice-crystallization developing within the meat, which lowers the quality of the item dramatically. It is best to prepare any fish thawed for consumption and then to eat the left-overs (if any) within a day or two.

How long will my fresh fish last?
You should consume fresh seafood within two days after receiving it. Storing fresh seafood in the bottom of your refrigerator, which is generally the coldest part, helps to preserve quality.

What are the Alaska fishing seasons?
There are many. Of the more popular seafoods, king crab season usually occurs between October and December. Snow crab season generally occurs January - March. Salmon seasons occur during the summer months. Halibut & black cod seasons occur between March and November.
